A campaign launched by West Yorkshire Police to tackle nuisance bikes has been deemed a success.
The campaign was launched on 10 April and ran for 20 days, which saw officers from Batley and Spen patrolling the Batley, Birstall and Fieldhead areas.
West Yorkshire Police launched the operation following concerns raised by the local communities about nuisance and off-road bikes being used on the district's roads.
During the 20 days of the operation 8 bikes were seized, 11 warnings issued and 4 people were reported for summons.
At the start of the operation there were 80 calls from members of the public reporting nuisance bikes and quads on the road, but whilst the operation was running the calls reduced by around 75%.
