Two neighbouring Sowerby Bridge restaurants are celebrating major success after Kiplings was named Yorkshire Restaurant of the Year and Syhiba won a national award for customer service.
Two restaurants in Sowerby Bridge are celebrating after securing major regional and national honours at a prestigious industry awards event.
Kiplings claimed the title of Restaurant of the Year for Yorkshire, while nearby Syhiba was named Customer Service of the Year on a national level.
It is believed to be the first time two competing establishments situated within walking distance of one another have simultaneously secured major regional and national accolades at the event.
Mohammed Rafiq, owner of Kiplings, said the double success demonstrated the strength of Sowerby Bridge's growing food scene and the sense of community between local businesses.
He said the award was a reflection of the hard work of his team and the continued support of loyal customers.
Mr Rafiq added: "To share this spotlight with our friends and peers just down the road in Sowerby Bridge shows just how vibrant our local food scene is right now."
Waheed Hanif, manager at Syhiba, described winning Customer Service of the Year nationally as an "overwhelming honour".
He said looking after customers had always been at the heart of the restaurant and added that neighbouring businesses work together to make Sowerby Bridge a great place to visit.
The double victory puts the spotlight on the Calderdale town's restaurant scene, with both businesses celebrating success while emphasising the importance of collaboration and community pride.
