A man who attacked a pensioner and attempted to car-jack a mother with her child, after raiding a shop in Glasgow, was found in Leeds.
Derek Bootland was discovered by police sleeping rough in Leeds and was then brought back to Glasgow.
On 21 April the 24-year-old entered a shop on Govan Road and attacked the 79-year-old shopkeeper before repeatedly attempting to enter a car before the female occupant managed to drive off with her toddler.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how Bootland had an alcohol dependency, which he has since abstained from, and was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within three months.
