12 teenagers have been arrested following a disturbance in Manchester city centre.
Police were called shortly after 5.10pm on Tuesday 8 January 2019 to reports of a man being pursued by another group of men on Aytoun Street, Piccadilly.
A teenager was taken to hospital with a stab wound that is not believed to be serious. He has since been released from hospital.
Greater Manchester Police have increased patrols in the area and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Jon Middleton, of GMP’s City of Manchester borough, said: “Thanks to the quick actions of our officers we have arrested twelve people in connection with this incident.
“I know it will be concerning to the public but I want to reassure people that we are increasing patrols in the area and we will be doing everything we can to find those responsible.
“Despite twelve arrests, this investigation is very much ongoing and I would ask anyone with information about what happened to get in touch with police as soon as you can.”
