A teenager was left covered in blood after an assault in Chorlton.
The 16-year-old victim was walking home from the Chorlton tram stop, after watching the Manchester United match at Old Trafford, when he was approached by a group of boys on Zetland Road.
The gang punched the boy to the face and took his mobile phone. They asked the victim to unlock the iPhone with his finger print, but he was covered in so much blood it would not work.
The suspects then took his wallet and punched him again when they found there was no money in it.
The gang were chased but not caught by officers who attended the scene.
