A takeaway owner who kept his shop open past its closing time because he claimed to be in fear of his drunk and disorderly customers has been fined £280.00.
Kirklees Magistrates Court heard that Mohammed Arif was only permitted to keep the Atlantis Takeaway in Holmfirth open until 1.30am.
But Kirklees Council licensing officers observed the premises still open and serving customers after this time.
The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to carrying on an unauthorised licensable activity and was fined £280, ordered to pay £257.73 costs and a £28 victim surcharge.
