A rugby player, who drove in excess of 100mph and made officers fear for their lives, has been jailed.
Scott Moore, 30, of Ranworth Drive, Lowton has been jailed at Bolton Crown Court after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and three counts of assault.
On Friday 14 October 2016, two officers from Greater Manchester Police pursued a black Mercedes, which travelled towards them at speed heading onto the A580 East Lancashire Road.
Moore drove the vehicle at more than 150mph and collided with a wall of a house in Leigh.
On exiting the vehicle a prolonged struggle ensued in which Moore was tasered six times. Despite this he took the wires out from his body and threatened to then taser one of the officers in the face.
Following a further struggle he was finally detained.
He was jailed yesterday (6 March) for one year and 11 months. He was also disqualified from driving for two years.
