Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a 25-year-old man is no longer suspected of murdering 26-year-old Alisha Samuels, who died following a stabbing in North Manchester. Detectives are continuing their investigation and appealing for information.
Detectives investigating the murder of a 26-year-old woman in North Manchester have issued an update as they continue their search for those responsible for her death.
Alisha Samuels died following a stabbing on Dorking Avenue in Manchester on Thursday, 15 October 2026.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a 25-year-old man, previously arrested in connection with the investigation, is no longer being treated as a murder suspect.
The man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries into other matters.
Officers have stressed that the murder investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to pursue other individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.
Police appeal for information
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant, who is leading the investigation, said officers remain determined to establish the full circumstances surrounding Alisha's death and bring those responsible to justice.
He said:
"While a man has been released on police bail as our enquiries continue, our investigation remains very much active."
The detective confirmed that officers are continuing efforts to locate outstanding individuals believed to have been involved.
Police are also urging members of the public not to speculate about the circumstances of Alisha's death.
Detective Chief Inspector Bryant warned that misinformation could hinder the investigation and cause additional distress to Alisha's grieving family.
He added:
"If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please come forward and speak to us."
Family requests privacy
Alisha's family have asked for privacy as they come to terms with their devastating loss.
Greater Manchester Police say supporting the family and securing justice for Alisha remain central to the ongoing investigation.
Detectives are encouraging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around Dorking Avenue on Thursday, 15 October, or who may have information relevant to the incident, to contact police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
