Twelve members of a Bradford-based drug network have been jailed for more than 100 years combined after police uncovered an industrial-scale operation supplying Class A drugs across Yorkshire and beyond.
Twelve people, including eleven men and one woman, have been jailed for a combined total of more than 100 years following a major investigation into organised drug dealing and money laundering centred on Bradford.
West Yorkshire Police's Serious and Organised Crime Unit uncovered a sophisticated criminal network responsible for supplying more than 135 kilograms of Class A drugs across Yorkshire, the Humber and other parts of the country.
During the investigation, officers recovered 55 kilograms of cocaine and heroin.
Detectives identified 35-year-old Idris Khan, from Bradford, as the leader of the organised crime group. He coordinated the movement of drugs using trusted couriers, including Akif Hashmi, 23, and Ibrahim Sajad, 27.
Hashmi was arrested in August 2025 while in possession of 20 kilograms of cocaine, 23 kilograms of heroin and three bags of crack cocaine, with a combined estimated street value of £4.3 million. His wife, Kiran Mahmood, 24, was also arrested.
Another key figure, 38-year-old Ibras Khan, was identified as a customer of the network. Together with Ataf Ali, 35, he arranged the movement of 31 kilograms of heroin and cocaine over two months.
Following Ibras Khan's arrest in April 2025, officers examined two mobile phones that revealed his involvement in large-scale drug transactions.
Investigators established that between August 2024 and April 2025, he oversaw the supply of more than 52 kilograms of drugs and collected £364,992.
The defendants appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Monday, 12 October, where the following sentences were imposed:
-
Idris Khan, 35, Bradford: 16 years.
-
Ibras Khan, 38, Queensbury: 14 years and nine months.
-
Ataf Ali, 35, Bradford: 14 years and nine months.
-
Akif Hashmi, 23, Tyersal: 13 years and three months.
-
Moshin Mian, 30, Huddersfield: 12 years and four months.
-
Michael Littlewood, 38, Blackpool: 10 years and six months.
-
Ibrahim Sajad, 27, Bradford: Seven years and six months.
-
Noor Hamid Khan, 33, Sheffield: Six years and three months.
-
Mohammed Usman, 30, Bradford: Five years and three months.
-
Mohammed Usman, 44, Bradford: Five years and three months.
-
Muhammed Chaudhary, 34, Ashford: Four years and six months.
-
Kiran Mahmood, 24, Bradford: Three years and nine months.
Two further defendants, Moshin Bangash, 27, of Bradford, and Lukman Patel, 35, of Leicester, are due to be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday, 28 October.
Bangash pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin, while Patel was convicted following a trial.
Detective Inspector Kevin Daly said the investigation had targeted a sophisticated criminal conspiracy operating on an industrial scale.
He warned that illegal drug dealing fuels crime and serious violence in communities, adding that the sentences demonstrated the consequences for those profiting from organised criminal activity.
