Police investigating the attempted murder of a baby who was found in the toilets of a hospital are appealing for witnesses.
Shortly after 12am on Wednesday 6 July 2016 police were called to the Royal Albert Infirmary in Wigan to reports that a new born baby boy had been found in the toilets of A&E.
The baby was found by security staff at the hospital and taken into the A&E ward where he was resuscitated and is now doing well.
Orsolya Anmaria Balogh has since been charged with attempted murder.
Police are now appealing for the public’s help to identify nine potential witnesses who used the same public toilets at the hospital between 10pm and midnight.
Detective Constable Kevin Telford from GMP’s Wigan borough said: “This is an awful situation, I am just so happy that the baby boy was found and will make a full recovery.
“We are now hoping to speak to the people who used the same toilets between 10pm and midnight. These people could provide vital information to help with our investigation.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 5307, 101 or via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
