Police are continuing to appeal for information after three young men died following a collision in South Manchester.
Shortly before 3:15am on Wednesday 27 April 2016, police observed a white Audi S5 driving at high speed on Wilbraham Road and began to follow the vehicle.
A short time later, the Audi collided with two parked cars and a street sign on Wilbraham Road, close to Whalley Range High School for girls.
Two men, aged 20 and 24, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A third man, 21, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, tragically died. The three men have been named locally as 24 year old Hamzaa Iqbal, 21 year old Munib Afzal Karim and 20 year old Hamza Gujjar
A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed until 11 June 2016 pending further enquiries.
A 19-year-old, who remains in hospital, was also arrested on suspicion of the same offence but has since been de-arrested and is still being treated for his injuries.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
Police Constable Paul Joynson of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a tragic set of circumstances and three young men have lost their lives.
“Our condolences remain with their families at this very difficult time and we have specially trained officers providing them with support.
“We are continuing to appeal for witnesses and I want to urge anybody who may have witnessed the collision or who has information that they feel may assist our investigation to please contact police.”
