Off road cops have promised there is more to come after a November blitz on anti-social riders on a Castleford estate.
Two riders are due before the courts and two bikes were seized following a co-ordinated week of action between PCSO’s and Wakefield District’s Operation Matrix off road bike team on the Half Acres estate.
The action was mounted following recent concerns about anti-social quad bike use in the Half Acres area and as part of continuing work to tackle issues with off road riders.
The co-ordinated action has been part of an overall ‘drive’ to reduce anti-social off-road riding in Castleford and Pontefract in 2017.
It included the launch of a new DNA tagging ‘weapon’ which, when sprayed on suspects, links them beyond reasonable doubt to offences they are filmed committing.
