A conman has been sentenced to jail after helping criminals.
Afzal Khan of Foxwood Drive, Hyde, Tameside, who tricked a bank into lending him £345,000 for a mortgage has been sentenced to six years.
In September 2014 officers raided Khan’s home finding evidence he had laundered £1.3m for criminal gangs.
Detectives also discovered that the 39-year-old had lied to a bank regarding his salary when he applied for a mortgage on a property in 2009.
He pleaded guilty to money laundering and mortgage fraud at Manchester Crown Court.
