Millions of pounds have been raised to help the families of the Manchester terror attack victims.
A Just Giving page set up by the Manchester Evening News has so far raised over £1.3m.
Other crowd-funding campaigns, including one set up by a Manchester-based marketing company with offices close to where the attack took place, Manchester Arena, have raised tens-of-thousands of pounds.
Manchester United and Manchester City football clubs have donated £1m to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
In a joint statement the Leader of Manchester City Council, Sir Richard Leese, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, said: “This is a wonderful act of generosity and speaks directly to the mood of our city and all its people.
“It shows how in our darkest hour people are coming together and that Manchester is a city of true solidarity – truly a City United.”
