A drug dealer from a south Manchester crime gang has been jailed after what has been called an “assassin’s kit” was found under his bed.
Choudhry Kamran Altaf’s room was searched by detectives, who discovered a Makarov pistol, a silencer and seven bullets at the Chorlton property.
It is believed Altaf was acting as the ‘custodian’ of the gun for the gang.
He has been jailed for seven years and eight months. His fellow gang members - kingpin Raheel Rehman, his right-hand man Fahad Rasul, Ihitsham Raja, Mohammed Dhiya Ali and Mohammed Zia Munir - previously received jail terms totalling more than 40 years.
