A six-week consultation has opened on plans to extend Cycleway 9 from Syon Park to Hounslow, alongside changes aimed at improving pedestrian and road safety.

Transport for London has launched a consultation on plans to extend Cycleway 9 by three kilometres from Syon Park to Hounslow town centre.

The proposals include segregated cycle lanes, improvements to 22 crossings, wider footways and changes to junctions.

TfL says 126 collisions were recorded along the route over a three-year period, with 25 resulting in serious injuries.

The scheme would create a continuous cycling link between Brentford and Hounslow.

Residents and businesses can comment on the proposals until the 19th of October.
