Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has called for action after another major fire at Dalton Mills in Keighley, describing the latest incident as “deeply infuriating”.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Grade II* listed former textile mill at around 8pm on Saturday.
The severity of the blaze prompted the evacuation of a number of nearby residents, with local authority emergency planning officers providing support to those affected.
Fire crews remained at the scene on Sunday morning, although the fire service confirmed the blaze had been brought under control.
Dalton Mills has been used as a filming location for major television productions including Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey, but the historic site has suffered a series of fires.
It was targeted in an arson attack in 2011 before its interior was devastated by another fire in 2022. A further arson attack took place in 2025.
Earlier this year, two fires occurred at the site within just six days in February, with both recorded as deliberate by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The latest incident is reported to be the fifth significant blaze at Dalton Mills in five years.
Mr Moore said he had been calling for the local authority to secure the site as effectively as possible for years.
He said: “This situation just simply cannot continue,” adding that another major fire in the centre of Keighley was “deeply infuriating”.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said two fire engines remained in attendance on Sunday morning but confirmed the situation was under control.
