A man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after being stabbed in New Moston.
Shortly before 7.30pm on Monday 1 October, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a stabbing that happened on Branston Street.
Officers attended and found the victim, aged 18, with a five-inch gash to his face.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
Officers are keen to speak to two men, one of which is described as white, approximately 6ft tall and of stocky build with fair hair and fluffy facial hair. He was wearing a cap and a grey zip up hooded top.
The second man is described as slightly shorter than the first man and was also wearing a hooded top.
Detective Sergeant James Coles, of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “This was a very distressing incident that’s left a teenager in hospital with serious head injuries but could easily have had devastating consequences.
“We have increased patrols in the area and are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage as part of this investigation so you will see us in the area over the coming days.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident, recognises the descriptions of the men or has any information that could assist with our enquiries to please get in touch as soon as you can.”
