A 28 year old man will appear at Leeds Crown Court next month after he allegedly punched a car passenger before lunging at him with a screwdriver.
Umar Zaman, of Bishop’s Court, Berry Brow denies charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in public and using it to make unlawful threats and making threats to kill.
Kirklees Magistrates heard allegations that on Saturday Zaman flagged down a car in Church Street, Paddock, then punched the passenger Isra Latif, attempted to stab him with a screwdriver before threatening to kill him and his family.
Zaman was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on June 6th.
