A man has been jailed after stabbing his victim in the chest causing deep wounds.
Leeds Crown Court heard how Lee Robert Taylor, of Sherwood Avenue, Bradley, had been convicted of two previous knife crimes and sentenced him to nine years after an attack on a man who was waiting for his taxi.
The incident took place on Cross Church Street, Huddersfield, in July last year, around 4am, when Taylor and his victim got into an argument about who would get the next taxi.
The 27-year-old stabbed Paul Middleton in the chest, who then fled whilst Taylor threatened another man with the knife, Taylor then continued to follow Mr Middleton.
Mr Anastasis Tassou for Taylor said the incident was over very quickly.
“He is going to spend a long time in prison as a result of what he did stupidly for trying to jump a taxi queue,” he said.
Taylor was sentenced for nine years.
