A man has died following a collision with a stationary tipper truck on Stanningley Bypass between Leeds and Bradford.
The crash took place on the Bradford-bound carriageway near to Richardshaw Lane on Saturday (24 November) evening.
Police say a white Skoda Yeti was involved in a collision with the rear of a white DAF tipper truck that was stationary in lane 1 having broken down.
The male driver of the Yeti, aged 46, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not in his vehicle at the time and was not injured.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it, particularly anyone who was driving in the area and had dashcam footage showing the collision itself or either vehicle prior to it.
