Four More Arrested After 13-Year-Old Boy Stabbed in Rochdale

Four more teenage boys have been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed during a serious assault in Rochdale.

Police have made four further arrests following the stabbing of a 13-year-old boy in Rochdale.

The serious assault happened on Saturday 29 August, and the victim remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Greater Manchester Police said two teenage boys who had previously been arrested have now been released on bail.

A further four teenage boys have since been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.

Police enquiries remain ongoing.

Restrictions under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act were also extended in Rochdale town centre until 3pm on Tuesday 1 September.

The powers allow officers to carry out searches in a defined area without the usual requirement for reasonable suspicion.

Detective Superintendent Richard Hunt said police were continuing to make progress in the investigation and were pursuing every lead to identify those responsible.

He urged anyone who witnessed the incident, was in Rochdale town centre at the time, or has relevant mobile phone, CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact police.

Anyone with information is being asked to call 101.
