Police in Pakistan have launched a murder investigation after local MP Naz Shah raised concerns after claims a young woman from Bradford was allegedly the victim of a so called honour killing In Pakistan.
Ms Shah has been calling for the exhumation of the body of 28-year-old, Samia Shahid from Manningham who died last week reportedly due to a heart attack.
Claims have been made that she was allegedly "lured" to Pakistan on the pretext that her father was ill and then her husband whom her family disapproved of was informed that she had died suddenly from a heart attack and had been buried. It has been claimed that she had been subjected to threats and attacks previously. It is understood that Police inPakistan are now keen to question the young woman's father and her former first husband Choudhry Shakeel, who has gone missing.
