Detectives from Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed earlier today (12 August)
Shortly after 6am police were called to reports of a man being attacked at the junction of Matthews Lane and Lonsdale Road.
On arrival police discovered a man in his 30s who had suffered stab wounds to his neck.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Detective Inspector Muz Kernain, from GMP’s city centre team, said: “The investigation is in its early stages and the motive for the attack is currently unclear.
“We have a team currently at the scene and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
“We would urge anyone who may have witnessed this attack or has any information about it to please call us.”
