The man credited as a “hero” for attempting to save the life of murdered MP Jo Cox has received a posthumous award from the queen.
Bernard Kenny was stabbed as he intervened when Thomas Mair attacked Mrs Cox in Birstall in June 2016.
The 79-year-old died of cancer in August, two months after he was honoured for his bravery.
His widow Doreen Kenny was presented with the George Medal by the Queen during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday, 7 November.
