Detectives are continuing their investigation in to the death of David Ellam in Huddersfield, after he was bitten by a dog on Monday.
Mr Ellam, 52 died on Monday evening in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries after being bitten by a dog near to his home in Sheepbridge.
A post mortem examination was carried out yesterday and has found that Mr Ellam died as a result of multiple injuries
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Swift of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said; "Mr Ellam died following multiple injuries sustained during the incident on Monday morning and our enquiries are continuing in to circumstances. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area who may have not yet spoken to police, who has any relevant information to come forward."
DCI Swift added, "We appreciate there will be understandable concern following this tragic event. There continues to be an increased visible policing presence in the area to offer reassurance to the community, and I would urge anyone who has any concerns to speak to officers.
