The inquest into the death of an 11 year old boy who hanged himself has been opened and adjourned for Police investigations into claims the youngster was being bullied.
Asad Khan was found by his mother at their home in Tile Street, Whetley Hill, Bradford, on September 28.
Bradford Coroner Martin Fleming adjourned the inquest to a provisional date of January 24 next year to allow police to conduct inquiries into allegations that Asad had been assaulted by older pupils at his school, Beckfoot Upper Heaton School, in the hours before his death.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire police confirmed that the force received a report about the alleged incident on Friday.
Detective Inspector Paula Bickerdike, of Bradford District Police, said:
"We have spoken to someone who was reported to have witnessed Asad being assaulted at his school just hours before his death. We have now established that this person did not witness such an incident."
"We are continuing to investigate what was happening in his life prior to his death on behalf of the Coroner and are appealing for anyone with information which may assist this inquiry to come forward."
"Information can be passed to the inquiry team by calling 101 or can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
