A Huddersfield man was sentenced to 14 years in prison yesterday, 9 May, after being charged with an assault on two police officers and possession of indecent images.
Christopher Hartley, 44-years-old and from Huddersfield, was arrested by officers from Cheshire Police on 7 September 2016, on suspicion of possession of indecent images.
Whilst he was being transported in handcuffs by officers, Hartley attacked the police officers which resulted in them suffering serious injuries.
Both officers are still receiving medical treatment and one has been left with permanent damage.
Kirklees CID led the investigation and charged Hartley with a number of offences including two counts of attempted section 18 assaults, breach of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order and possession of indecent images.
