A £3.3m shelter has been opened in Bradford for the homeless of the city.
The housing scheme, near to Bradford Cathedral, has 18 self-contained units and is estimated to save the council up to £500,000 a year in bed and breakfast bills.
It is made up of a purpose built three-storey block and a refurbished Grade II listed clergyman’s house which dates back to the 1700s.
People can be housed for up to three months whilst they are assisted by the Horton Housing Association to find permanent accommodation.
