Three men have been arrested after a house was set on fire in Leigh.
On Tuesday 16 October a couple were in their home on Montreal Street when their windows were smashed in the early hours. A flammable liquid was then thrown through the windows and set alight.
They managed to escape the flames but the woman - who is in her 60s - was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition. It is believed she has suffered life-changing injuries as a result of the attack.
Greater Manchester Police executed warrants on Tuesday 23 October in Leigh and Tyldesley and arrested three men aged 19, 22 and 37 on suspicion of attempted murder.
On Saturday 20 October, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
