A group of Fraudulent carers from the Cullingworth and Keighley area have been ordered to pay back more than £171,000 in compensation to a bedridden and vulnerable elderly women under their care.
Bradford Crown Court heard how the victim, Audrey Hammond, now in her mid-90s was ripped off by the carers to fund their extravagant lifestyle of designer handbags and expensive jewelry.
Today Stephen Wood, representing the Crown at a Proceeds of Crime Application hearing, agreed benefit figures for the co accused Amanda Carroll, Lynda Mynott, & mother and daughter Wendy & Lisa Bell. The figures will be determined by the amount each individual defrauded from Audrey Hammond and the funds and assets they have available.
During the two and a half year fraud, Carroll and Wendy Bell recruited friends and family to become carers, although they had not undergone any of the required regulative checks with the Criminal Records Bureau.
