Kirklees Council has issued an apology after flying an LGBT flag upside down.
The local authority had the rainbow stripes out on display at Huddersfield Town Hall to mark its annual Pride event last weekend.
In a tweet the council said: "We apologise and we meant no offence."
A spokesperson said the council had also received complaints about its decision to fly the flag in the first place.
In the tweet the authority added: "To everyone that has complained that we flew the LGBT flag, we offer no apology whatsoever, we're proud to be diverse and inclusive."
