Police in Huddersfield are appealing for information after a local clergyman was assaulted in a ‘road rage’ incident.
The victim, a 63-year-old man, was crossing Trinity Street, Huddersfield, on the pedestrian crossing outside the Olde Hatte pub, at about 12.15pm on Thursday 23 November when the incident happened.
He had been crossing among other pedestrians when a car, which had been stopped at the crossing, set off against the red lights causing the victim to put out his hand for safety, hitting the car.
The driver then followed him and got out of his car. He challenged him about touching the vehicle before pushing the victim to the ground. He received bruising to his wrist, hands and leg.
The suspect, described as a white man in his later 40s to early 50s, got back in his car and drove off from the scene.
