A leading charity has warned that victims in communities were forced marriage is most prevalent are unaware that it is a crime.
The BBC reports that more than a dozen women at an event in Bradford looking at forced marriage said they did not know it was illegal.
Forced marriage became a criminal offence in 2014 and there have been four convictions across the UK since.
Charity Karma Nirvana said if victims were unaware it was a crime, they would be unlikely to seek help.
