Two brothers from Wigan have been jailed for a total of 22 years after police discovered 1.3kg of cocaine.
Meisam Abvabi of Cross Street, Hindley pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and conspiracy to supply cocaine between Thursday 11 November 2012 and Friday 8 August 2014.
Mohammed Abvabi also of Cross Street, Hindley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine between Thursday 11 November 2012 and Friday 8 August 2014 and conspiracy to launder money.
Meisam was arrested on Friday 6 June 2014 after being found in possession of cocaine, £1800 cash and a knuckle duster. He was later bailed pending further enquiries.
Mohammed was arrested on Friday 8 August 2014 after being found in possession of cocaine and £800 cash.
A search of the brothers’ home led to the recovery of 1.3 Kg of cocaine, some packaging materials, cash and documents linking them to the supply of cocaine.
At Liverpool Crown Court Mohammed Abvabi was sentenced to 10 years in prison and Meisam Abvabi was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
PC John Litton of GMP’s Wigan borough, said: “These two men worked together for a long period of time for their own gain but at the detriment to the communities of Greater Manchester.
“This sentencing result should send out a message that we work hard to keep drugs off our streets and we will continue to do so.”
