18 young people from Bradford and Kirklees are visiting NATO HQ in Brussels as part of a leadership development programme.
The visit aims to give them valuable insights and the opportunity to familiarise with the working of the inter-governmental organisation.
The trip is supported by Khidmat Centres, the Bangladesh Youth Organisation from Bradford, Huddersfield Pakistani Community Alliance and Kum On Y’All from Dewsbury and facilitated through the Institute of Statecraft.
The group travelled from Bradford in the early hours of Sunday 25 November, and will come back home on Tuesday
One of the group leaders Fozia Shaheen, who is also a Councilor from Bradford and a Project Manager for people with learning disabilities, said: “I am thrilled about the opportunity to be involved in the project. It is a great opportunity for young people from Bradford and other Yorkshire cities to see, firsthand how NATO is structured and works.
“This is also a great opportunity for our young people, who are the leaders of tomorrow to learn and broaden their horizons, meet other young people from the different cities, develop and share lifelong experiences.”
