The findings of an independent review into Bradford’s taxis have been published.
The Bradford Council service deals with 330 Hackney Carriages and 3,970 Private Hire drivers and is responsible for licensing and inspecting vehicles to ensure that they do not pose a risk to the travelling public.
One area of concern in the report is that some applicants may be asking family members to complete their application form or speak to licencing officers by phone during the initial application phase and this has been changed to require applicants to converse with officers in person.
However, the rest of the review states the service was found to be operating in accordance with the highest national standards.
