External auditors have praised Bradford Council for delivering savings and keeping within budget.
The external auditors are the international accounting firm Mazars who keep a close check on how local authorities manage their finances to make sure they deliver value for money and keep on track with their targets.
A report to the Council's Governance and Audit Committee recently said that the local authority had effectively used its resources and its staff, in order to deliver its priorities and maintain its statutory functions.
The Council's auditors give a high rating for sound governance, understanding and using reliable financial and performance information, and reliable financial planning and reporting that supports the Council's priorities and the maintance of its statutory functions.
Bradford Council Leader Coun Susan Hinchcliffe said: "We are living in difficult times as we have faced year-on-year budget cuts as part of the Government's austerity measures."
"We believe it is really important that we give value for money to the people of Bradford and it is good to see that this has been recognised by an external independent body."
