Bradford Council is now able to introduce tenants to private landlords with a free tenant finder service.
The Private Sector Lettings Scheme uses properties in the private rented sector to help house people in housing need. There are families with children, single people, couples and older people looking for good quality rented accommodation.
The Council is looking for properties of all sizes across the Bradford district. Before a property is accepted onto the scheme it will be inspected to ensure it meets minimum standards. Properties must have a Gas Safety Certificate, a Periodical Inspection of the Electrical Installation Certificate and an Energy Performance Certificate.
Councillor Val Slater, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “We want to ensure that our residents are able to live in clean, safe and affordable homes and with this scheme we can work with private landlords to provide these homes to tenants.”
