A long-term plan to transform Halifax town centre over the next decade will be considered by Calderdale Council’s Cabinet in January, setting out ambitions for growth, wellbeing and sustainability.
A bold new plan to transform Halifax over the next decade is set to be discussed by Calderdale Council.
Councillors will be asked to approve the Halifax 2036 Place Vision at a Cabinet meeting on the 12th of January. The plan sets out how the town centre could become more vibrant, inclusive and resilient, shaped by feedback from local residents, businesses and organisations.
The vision will guide future investment and help partners work together to secure funding, supporting creativity, enterprise and opportunity as part of everyday life.
Council leader Jane Scullion said the plan builds on Halifax’s strong culture, heritage and community spirit, creating a future where people thrive and businesses grow.
The proposals include improving transport and accessibility, creating new homes and green spaces, reimagining empty buildings, and reconnecting the town with the Hebble Valley.
The vision will be discussed at Halifax Town Hall from 4pm.
