Officers investigating an attack on a man in Shaw have made an arrest.
At around 12.55am on Saturday the 28th of January 2017, a 55-year-old man was walking along the bridge of Linney Lane.
As he tried to walk past a group of teenagers shouted aggressively at him before one of them punched him in the face.
The victim tried to run away but was followed and kicked to the ground. He was then kicked in the back and head which knocked him unconscious.
He suffered a three-inch cut to his arm, which required 10 stitches, a cut to his head, lip, left shoulder and knee.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed.
