Police are appealing for witnesses after attempted robbery in Lockwood where victim was injured with meat cleaver.
The incident happened on Monday 18 July at 9:45pm on Victoria Road, Lockwood, in Huddersfield.
The 54-year-old male victim was walking along the street and between three teenagers. One of the group turned around and got out a small meat cleaver and demanded the victims mobile phone.
The victim runs off but is chased by the suspect and suffers cuts to his arms from the meat cleaver.
He manages to run off and no property was stolen.
The suspect is described as a white male, 6ft tall, around 12-15 years old, skinny build, chin length brown hair, round face and quite well spoken. The other two boys stood with him were not involved and of a similar age.
Detective Constable Mick Cummings, of Kirklees CID, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victim who sustained cuts to his arms during the incident.
"No property was stolen in the end, but I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything in the area or has any information to help with our enquiries.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact me at Kirklees CID via 101 quoting reference 13160308414."
