An African children’s choir brought music and joy to Bradford College.
The Singing Children of Africa, a choir of Kenyan school children, performed at the college as part of their fundraising Believe Tour of the UK.
The musical youngsters are from the Jolaurabi School in the north of Kenya which was set up and is funded by the charity Educate the Kids.
They performed for an audience of staff and students with traditional African songs and dances during a lunchtime concert before repeating their show to a sold-out audience of the general public in the evening.
It is the third year in a row that the college has hosted the choir, having built up a relationship with the school.
A song written by students of the college for the Kenyan school was among those performed.
Money from the tour goes to support the school, which some of the children walk up to eight miles a day to attend and where lessons start at 6.30am and go on until 6pm. The school also includes an orphanage.
The choir also enjoyed a tour of the National Science and Media Museum during their day in Bradford and were provided with lunch for free by My Lahore restaurant.
