A drug dealer who ran a heroin and crack cocaine supply line across East Lancashire has been jailed for 10 years.
A drug dealer from Accrington has been jailed for 10 years after running a heroin and crack cocaine supply line across East Lancashire.
Amar Hussain, 34, of Hood Street, operated a drugs line known as “General”, which was used to send bulk messages advertising drugs for sale. He was sentenced at Preston Crown Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
Police said that during their investigation, between June 1 and July 8 last year, Hussain was on licence from a previous prison sentence for drug dealing. He was regularly driven around by associates and was found on multiple occasions to be in possession of the drugs line phone.
Investigators also found that the phone line had links beyond East Lancashire, with activity recorded in Blackpool, Rochdale, Bury and Bolton.
A second defendant, Davis Fenton-Hargreaves, 20, of no fixed address, admitted conspiracy to supply a Class A drug and was jailed for three years and four months.
Detective Sergeant Stu Peall from Lancashire Police said both men had played a role in supplying crack cocaine and heroin, adding that officers would continue to target those involved in drug dealing due to the harm it causes in communities.
