10 community projects have been awarded nearly £70,000 funding to boost cycling and walking as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s £60m CityConnect programme aimed at encouraging more people to travel by bike or on foot.
Not-for-profit organisations were invited to bid for grants of up to £10,000 to deliver grassroots initiatives enabling people living and working in their community to access work, school or training opportunities by cycling or walking.
In Bradford alone grants have been awarded to Community Action Bradford and District, BEAP Community Partnership, Margaret Carey Foundation with Bradford Bikery, and Bradford Trident.
