More than 50,000 2-7 year olds took part in a campaign today, 10 May, run by Huddersfield-based charity, Brake.
The project for nurseries, schools and child-minders engaged children with lessons on road safety, helping them to raise awareness among parents and the wider community about protecting children, particularly those on foot or bicycle, by slowing down.
The event came as a survey revealed that half of drivers in the Yorkshire and Humber region admit to speeding in 20mph areas, and over a quarter admit to doing it once a week or more.
