A woman found dead at a flat in Ancoats has been formally identified.
Shortly after 7.40am on Tuesday 13 February, Greater Manchester Police were called after a man had jumped from a second storey flat window onto the roof of a stationary black Hyundai on Swan Street.
Police received a further report that the man fled on foot towards Thompson Street before smashing the window of a black BMW. Three people were also assaulted.
Officers gained entry to a nearby flat and discovered the body of a woman who has now been formally identified as 24-year-old Danielle Richardson from Oldham.
A Home Office post mortem has confirmed that the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder nearby. He remains under arrest and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
