Around 50 firefighters were called out to a blaze that ripped through a garage in Thornton.
The fire service attended Bronte Works, in Sapgate Lane, at around 3.30pm yesterday 12 March after a car being repaired caught fire.
Nearby residents were forced to evacuate after large flames were seen coming from the old scrap vehicle workshop.
There are concerns about the structure in strong winds after the blaze destroyed the roof but left some metal parts at risk of coming away.
