Public realm improvement works are set to begin this week on Darley Street in Bradford city centre.
From this week, work will start on the section of Darley Street between Upper Piccadilly and Godwin Street. The scheme aims to better link North Parade and the Top of Town improvements with the main traffic-free areas of the city centre.
The plans include new pedestrian crossings, parking bays, benches and litter bins, along with five new trees designed to help manage rainwater run-off. New paving will be laid, the road resurfaced, and fresh line markings added.
A new cycle lane and cycle racks will also be installed to support active travel.
The project is funded through Active Travel England via the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw said the improvements would help connect recently upgraded areas and enhance the look and feel of the city centre.
