Two West Yorkshire Police officers who arrested the armed killer of MP Jo Cox will be honoured at this year's Police Federation Bravery awards.
The annual awards, which are in their 22nd year, will be held in July and will recognise the incredible acts of selflessness shown by officers - on and off duty.
Police Constable Craig Nicholls and Police Constable Jonathan Wright have been nominated for the North East bravery award, for their heroic acts in detaining and arresting Thomas Mair.
They were on routine patrol when Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox was fatally stabbed and shot on 16 June last year. They noticed a man who was taking evasive action to not be seen and pursued him, knowing it was potentially Mrs Cox's killer.
